Will Suzanne Saperstein Sell Her Estate To Mariah Carey?
It's been a while since any of us have heard much about "billionaire divorcee" Suzanne Saperstein, though real estate watchers have kept a very close eye. It looks like the $ 125 million home – known as Fleur De Lys – may just have been sold. Looks like Suzanne Saperstein may not need that mortgage loan modification after all.
Has Suzanne Saperstein’s home finally been sold?
Suzanne Saperstein’s estate has been on the market for the last three years. Despite many calls to do so, Suzanne Saperstein has categorically refused to cut prices on the 35,000 square foot, 12 bedroom palace. Now the rumor mills are buzzing that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon may have put a bid in on the home. A first edition library, screening room, multiple kitchens, and a full five acres are also included in the purchase price. Depending on the down payment and loan that she gets, Mariah Carey would be looking at a $709,000 mortgage payment on a 30-year, good interest rate loan.
Suzanne Saperstein's divorce
Suzanne Saperstein has been known for more than just the sale of her multi-million dollar home. Suzanne Saperstein was the wife of oil mogul David Saperstein. On board the company jet, during a layover in Texas, Suzanne was served divorce papers from her husband. Her husband left her for the nanny. The divorce ended up being one of the highest-profile and most expensive divorces in L.A. history.
Suzanne Saperstein the rogue socialite?
Suzanne Saperstein hasn't really been hiding since the divorce – she has been making an effort to "explore new things." In amongst everything else, Suzanne has helped her daughters start a fashion line that raises money for drunk driving awareness and taken up Latin dance competition. Suzanne is also spending a chunk of cash on starting a ballroom where same-gender couples are as welcomed and encouraged as opposite-gender couples. Though she’s not being incredibly public about it, Suzanne is making a name for herself, if very expensively.
