This stunning pair of classical vases are from either Watcombe or the Torquay Terra Cotta Company .These were decorated by Holland Birbeck. Many vases of this period are unmarked. They are very carefully and beautifully decorated in coloured enamels, one with dog roses and the other with convolvulus. They date from the 1870's and measure 11.75 inches in height. Condition is good with one small rim chip to the vase decorated wth dog roses and scuffing to one of the masks, also a small chip to one of the wings but no cracks or restorations. The vase decorated with convulvulus is in better condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
