The amazing world of "Jewellery"
The history of Jewellery has travelled a long way. The history of jewellery dates back several centuries, evolving form shells, animal teeth, and other objects used as adornment in prehistoric times. For the very first time African people started wearing ornaments. Drilled beads made up of snail shells have been found in Africa which is 75,000 years old. Beads made up of ostrich egg shell were also recovered form Africa's Enkapune Ya Muto region which are about 40, 000 years old.
Jewellery was, is and will always be a fascinating world of beauty. About 5000 years ago Jewellery making started in Egypt, Italy, China and South and Central America. During Renaissance Jewellery making attained the status of a fine art in Italy. During that time many Italian sculptors turned goldsmiths. In early 17th century the Symbolic significance of Jewellery was shed off and the decorative function of Jewellery came into existence.
Ornaments are basically ingredients of personal adornment. They hail from marvelous history; it has existed form earliest times. With the passing time ornaments became important part of ones dressing and hence became a supplement to one's individual style. In today's time ornaments have become a significant part of fashion, style and trend. To perk up beauty and overall look we wear ornaments.
Jewellery is not only worn to achieve beauteous looks, there is much significance to wear it. Let us understand it this way, a ring is worn not only as an object of fascination, it is believed to be a symbol of unity and eternity.
